Remap process info
The equipment I use is the best and safest on the market. With the remap software updated before every Remap is done.
I have a Solus 9.4 Diagnostic reader, (with nearly every poss lead and plug for most vehicles on the road)
An acer notebook, on which the RACE programme, and read/written files are sent, received, downloaded and stored.
Genius handheld file reader, this is the brains behind the process, on this are the apps for each vehicle avaliable to be Remapped.
The process on an individual car takes approx 2 hours. The process is straight forward enough but alot depends on how long the genius takes to read/write the vehicle.
*Each vehicle is first Fault code read with the solus. Any codes found are deleated so the ECU is clear. (If The codes cannot be cleared then the ECU CANNOT be remapped untill it is clear) (The best way to tell is if the ECU Fault light is on the dash) most vehicles will reset the faults.
*Then the battery is connected to a constant supply through the mains, (this is to insure there is no Voltage drop during the process, causing any spikes or loss of files)
*Now the Vehicle can be read through the genius. (this can take up to 30mins but in most cases less than 10 mins.
*With the file on the Genius it is then transferred onto the notebook and RACE system, where it is identified and will await sending, then the file is sent via a secure net-work to our head office, where they will Custom write the codes specivied for each map, (Code 1/Code 2, Power/Economy)
*This process takes upto to an hour, but again in most cases will take upto 30mins. The modifyed file is then sent back to the RACE system and is loaded back to the Genius handheld unit.
*Now the modyfied file is written over the orignal file on the vehicles ECU(agin can take upto 30 mins)
*Next the vehicle is checked for fault codes, Road tested and the process is complete.
This remap system is designed to release the true potential of your vehicle, without causing any detriment to your engine.
Unlocking and maximising the settings that are already avaliable.
Avaliable for Naturally asperated petrol vehicles.
Turbo Petrol vehicles,
Turbo Diesel vehicles
Code 1, Increase Power and with this the fuel economy of your vehicle 8-10% (TDI mainly)
Code 2, More geared towards power but in some TDI engines fuel economy is improved also.
Having a remap will invalidate a manufacturers warrenty so it is in the persons intrest not to tell the dealer about it.
The system is totally reversable if required, and not detectable by main dealer.
